How To Put A Giraffe In A Fridge - by Rajtilak “Jim” Bhattacharjee

How To Put A Giraffe In A Fridge

by Rajtilak “Jim” Bhattacharjee

Jokes
This famous quiz game has been developed by Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and will help you understand better your style of thinking.

1. How do you put a giraffe in the fridge?
Correct answer: Open the fridge, put the giraffe inside, close the fridge. This question checks if you tend to make simple things complicated.

2. How do you put an elephant in the fridge?
Wrong answer: Open the fridge, put the elephant inside, close the fridge.
Correct answer: Open the fridge, remove the giraffe, put the elephant inside, close the fridge. This question checks your ability to consider implications from your previous actions.

3. The Lion King organized a moot for the animals: all the animals are present but one. Which one?
Correct answer: The elephant. The elephant is in the fridge. This checks your memory. Even though you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you will answer the next one for sure.

4. You have to cross a river, but it is populated by alligators. What are you going to do?
Correct answer: You swim across the river because all the alligators are attending the moot. This question checks if you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Andersen Consulting Worldwide, 90% of the managers who undertook the test failed all the answers, on the contrary many children under 6 answered some questions correctly. Andersen Consulting says this is the proof that many top managers have the same brain as a 4-years old child!

He spends $450 of each $700 paycheck feeding hungry (Copied from CNN.com)

Jorge Munoz estimates he has served more than 70,000 free meals since 2004.

Jorge Munoz estimates he has served more than 70,000 free meals since 2004.

At around 9:30 each night, relief comes in the form of Jorge Munoz's white pickup truck, filled with hot food, coffee and hot chocolate.

The men eagerly accept containers of chicken and rice from Munoz, devouring the food on the spot. Quiet gratitude radiates from the crowd.

For many, this is their only hot meal of the day; for some, it's the first food they've eaten since last night.

"I thank God for touching that man's heart," says Eduardo, one of the regulars.

Watching Munoz, 44, distribute meals and offer extra cups of coffee, it's clear he's passionate about bringing food to hungry people. For more than four years, Munoz and his family have been feeding those in need seven nights a week, 365 days a year. To date, he estimates he's served more than 70,000 meals.

You Are Who You Hang With (from BlogHerald.com)

You Are Who You Hang With

This post was written by Chris Garrett

With social media tools we have the ability to instantly become a citizen of the world. We probably have more interactions in a single day than many people from our grandparents times met in their whole life. This has both advantages and negatives, and navigating these will have a profound impact on your happiness and your success.

Fact is some people make you feel better, lift you up, inform and entertain, while others seem to be on a mission to depress, annoy, enrage. Sorting the edifying from the toxic is a habit to get into early and often!

Build a Positive Network

  • Read and follow people who inspire or motivate you
  • Surround yourself with positive influences rather than people who bring you down
  • Do not get drawn into protracted debates or arguments
  • Block people who routinely aggravate you
  • Avoid scenarios where you get drawn into negativity
  • Seek out people who are succeeding at what you want to do and observe how they behave and think
  • Find the learning opportunity in every interaction

Being a Good Networker

This isn’t just about having a positive network, it is also important to be a good member of other people’s networks.

One factor to avoid is the idea that people in your network should somehow be “useful”. If you are tempted to think “what have you done for me lately” then shake that off right now. Nobody likes a user, and most of us have a well tuned user-radar. Instead of what have they done for you, what have you done for them? Why would someone keep your details in their address book?

If you value your contacts, and they match the positive attributes mentioned above, with none of the negatives, are they not work keeping in touch with and doing the odd favor for?
