Lately I'm getting more and more Twitter spam in my direct message folder from folks trying to make money the easy way. Before I launch a bitch rant, let's define "easy way":
- No investment in the community
- Selfish gains only
- Attempting a short-cut around value
So this morning, I received a DM promoting a website called Retweet.It:
I clicked on the link and found several problems with Retweet.It (spelling errors aside):1. Google Adwords
2. You pay money to be retweeted
3. You earn "retweet credits" by retweeting other member's tweets.
4. Finally, your choice of tweets to retweet is pretty much garbage.
</bitch rant>
______________
What do you guys think? What would happen to the inherent value of retweets if more and more people paid for them?
